MUM’s the word for Matty Healy – but not when it comes to his rekindled romance with Taylor Swift.
The 1975 rocker went on a night out with his Loose Women star mum Denise Welch on Wednesday.
Matty, 34, and Denise, 65, were snapped coming out of J Sheekey after enjoying dinner together.
Their reunion comes as The Sun revealed how Matty had re-started his relationship with American pop star Taylor.
Pals said Matty and Taylor, 33, reconnected after working through issues with their hectic schedules which has seen them both performing on opposite sides of the world.
A pal said of the couple, who also briefly dated early in their careers: “There is just something electric between them and they seem to have overcome it all quite quickly and decided they definitely want to make it work at all costs.
“They’re arranging time together in between tour dates and talking all the time.
“He’s utterly smitten and it seems to be mutual.
“It sounds as though there may have been some issues behind the scenes but he’s made changes to fix them.
“One thing is for sure, he isn’t letting anything come between his chances of making it work with Taylor.”
After The Sun initially revealed they were dating, Matty appeared at Taylor’s US stadium gigs.
Tracks on her new record are understood to have been inspired by their romance, which came after she had split with British actor and long-time partner Joe Alwyn, 32.
Last month Denise, who had Matty during her marriage to Benidorm actor Tim Healy, said she was worried about his health because of his tough schedule.
She said: “Matty is absolutely shattered.
“He’s on a world tour and as much as it’s hard to go, ‘Oh, please feel sorry for my boy,’ people don’t realise that it’s gruelling to be the lead singer, the creator, the writer, the producer of a massive show on the scale that Matthew does.”
